Our Technology
Technology empowers the creativity in a professional color grading experience. To ensure that the colorist is working with the highest quality images, Katabatic uses a Raw Data Workflow. This means that the images are the exact same images recorded by the camera. WIth raw data there is no loss of resolution or quality, giving the colorist the largest palette to work with.
Katabatic’s color grading suite is built around Assimilate SCRATCH, a professional color grading system with real-time color manipulation that allows the colorist and client to experiment and view results immediately. Working with images up to 5K resolution, the colorist is able to re-frame the image without any loss of quality.
Rest easy knowing that what you see on our high-quality monitors will closely match what people see in the real word. Our specialists are vigilant about calibrating and testing the equipment and workflow to make sure there are no color shifts throughout the color process. When it is time to finish your color grade, images are exported as 32-bit DPX files which contain every drop of color information along with the relevant timecode, to ease the on-line process.
