We Are Katabatic Digital

Our Story

Katabatic Digital has lived at the forefront of the Digital Cinema revolution since 2008, when Emery Wells started the company in a one-room office in Union Square. As Digital Cinema production exploded in popularity Katabatic grew to match the demand for cutting-edge creative work that could take advantage of the new production techniques. After expanding to a multi-suite studio on Seventh Avenue, Katabatic now offers a comfortable creative atmosphere for its clients and creative staff to work with the best Digital Cinema post-production tools for creating outstanding moving images.

Our Difference

Devoted to Digital Cinema production since day one, Katabatic’s technical expertise powers exceptionally creative work. Technical excellence is not an end in itself. The color grading and VFX services from Katabatic allow for the limitless creative choices that are the hallmark of Digital Cinema production. One result of that technical prowess and creative talent can be seen in the Katabatic graded film The Exploding Girl, about which the New York Times said “[the] film’s best moments...have an almost exquisite delicacy.” From the quiet sensitive images of that film to the raw, heart-quickening images of a luxury car campaign, Katabatic provides its clients with the cutting-edge in creative vision and technique.
